<description>Beautifully put! This is just what I&#039;m working on in my practice, and the idea of damming up the river until it can flow in a new way...love it!

Love and light!

<description>It truly is one of the greatest discoveries. To know that we can change our brain - that we are not stuck in what has happened is remarkable. Richie Davidson and his researchers are discovering how much compassion and kindness can not only buffer the suffering but literally change it. It&#039;s remarkable.

		<description>Hello

The comparison of a canyon and the pathways in our minds made me smile! It is so true, those deeply carved &#039;pathways&#039; can be changed I have/am experiencing that in my own brain. I hadn&#039;t thought of the dam holding back all that water though as we work to change the flow. No wonder it takes weekly, daily, hourly minute by minute practise.

What a miracle that we are able to change our brains. I personally believe that as we change those old pathways we allow our soul, or the essence of ourselves, to gently move and flow as beautiful energy back into all the places it belongs but has been blocked from by the trauma.

I know from my own experience in therapy that changing the neural pathways, reconnecting and creating new connections can give strange sensation actually in the brain. It is those sensations that help affirm to me that it really is true. Our brains can change and heal.

Thank you for the metaphor of the canyon, such strength and awesome power in a canyon. That gives me determination to keep working!

<description>Love the synchronicity! Both books you picked up and looked at are wonderful companions on the journey. Your inner guidance is obviously guiding you!

It must feel really good to be ready to start carving out new patterns. I&#039;m glad you&#039;ll be on the course with us.
Talk to you tomorrow!

<description>Thank You for this wonderful visual of the canyon and the evidence in your positive comments that change is possible. I had the most wonderful moment of synchronicity as earlier I was at a bookstore and I held in my hand the very book you refer to on brain plasticity and emotions. I was initially attracted to it because of the butterflies on the cover and the intriguing title. I did not purchase the book but selected another &quot; The Artist&#039;s Way workbook&quot; by Julia Cameron but I will be heading back to the bookstore soon to purchase the other.
I am looking forward to tomorrow and the beginning of the course and feel emotionally ready to start carving new patterns despite the wellworn painful ones that always seem to hold tight inside somewhere deep.
