10 Aug De-cluttering inside and outside
Having just helped my 89 year old father clean out the house he had lived in for the last 28 years I have felt the need to cull and de-clutter much of my own stuff. As I sorted through the many things my Dad and Mom had collected and stored for all these years I was filled with memories. Many of them good.
While I was doing it, though, I thought of others who keep things around them that don’t always make them feel good. Or store things way past their time.
Sometime when we’re in a healing process we need to clear ground, inside us and outside us. Good trauma and attachment therapy helps accomplish the inside piece. Sometimes, though, we need some help de-cluttering outside as well. An open environment helps create order and internal clarity.
Today in the mail I got a note from Sue Rasmussen, a friend in Minneapolis, who is passionate about decluttering and getting rid of things. When I first her talk about clearing clutter I was inspired by her delight and got motivated to do the same.
When I saw that Sue is doing a series of decluttering “classes” – by phone – I thought I had to share this with you. She also has some free audios you can download — so help yourself to them!
