Pixar’s Animated Movie: Inside Out

The vibrant Internal Family Systems community organized a pre-screening of Pixar’s animated movie Inside Out which was great fun to see with colleagues.  Set in the mind of an 11 year old girl Inside Out explores  the voices in our heads. It’s based on part on the research of Paul Ekman on emotions.  Delightful, touching — and educational. It’s definitely a must see movie for anyone psychologically oriented.

For those of you who have taken the Becoming Safely Embodied Skills course you might also enjoy the way memories are portrayed. Inside Out gives a helpful orientation to what we call “time capsules” of experience in the BSE skills.  (Starting in October, 2015 I’m teaching a monthly seminar series on trauma, attachment, and yoga, all building on the BSE skills– see below for more information)
