08 Jul What’s the World Cup got to do with Healing?
The first 15 minutes were absolutely mesmerizing. Stunning. The first goal by Carli Lloyd within minutes, followed quickly by another goal (Lloyd), a third by Holiday — and then the goal to be remembered, Carli Lloyd from midfield into the goal. Jaw dropping. With that Carli Lloyd completed a hat-trick, a term used in sports for three positive feats in one game. Lloyd did it in 16 minutes.
What does this have to do with healing?
Seeing. Believing. Imagining. Visioning. Practicing. Practicing. Practicing.
“It’s kind of funny….I dreamed of and visualized playing in the World Cup final and visualized scoring four goals…. that’s what it’s all about. I think at the end of the day you can be physically strong, you can have all the tools out there, but if your mental state isn’t good enough, you can’t bring yourself to bigger and better things. And for me, I’ve just constantly been visualizing, constantly been growing confidence with each and every game and I was on a mission.”
Healing should be an Olympic Sport
I often tell my clients healing should be an Olympic -or World Cup – sport taking dedication and relentless determination. Training your heart and mind and body in this sets you up to live the life you want. I’ve seen it work over and over and over again. And I want to see it work in your life.
Want to know how to do this?
Visualizing. Practicing. Seeing. Imagining. Building a secure base to live a different life. Looking where you want to go, including the past without being limited by it. Starting in October, 2015 I’m teaching a monthly experiential seminar series for professionals on trauma, attachment, and yoga, all building on the Becoming Safely Embodied skills. (see below for more information). We’re half way full but there’s still room for you if it feels right to join us.
